I'm sure this has been asked before but I'd appreciate a little help.
I taped Jeff Tweedy in Dublin last night - solo acoustic.
I'm trying to boost the volume in audition but when I do it sends the applause sections into the red.
Any way is boosting just the music and keeping the applause at a decent level?

There are several ways to do this.
Manually use the volume envelope tool to reduce the applause sections to the level of the highest peaks in the music or below.
Use a limiter with the output threshold set to the peak of the music to reduce the applause volume spikes.
Cut out the applause entirely (least favorable option)

The easiest way to perform this task is to use an automation lane on the track.
