In vegas 9 go to tools or options and burn bluray from timeline.you can fit about 30 - 35mins on a dvd using avc with ac3 audio with a bitrate of 12mbps.dont use mpeg.

I tried doing that...it renders it and after rendering it tries to make an iso file but it always crashes before it can start making an iso file..Have you or anyone experience this before?

You have dvd architect 5 as well correct? If yes than render your files in vegas as 2 seperate files with the same name.render the audio to ac3 and the video to sony avc 15mbps or  12.open dvd architect create new project and continue on.how long is your segment?

I have architect 4.5 but can get 5...It's only 15mins..So I will try and do that.

BTW can you look at the pictures here:

You pick AVCHD and not Bluray before in the drop down menu before rendering (cuz I'm not using a bluray disc but a DVD disc)?
And you you click on customs and change the video format .avc (the default was .m2ts)?

Thanks again.

Pick the bluray template it doesnt matter that your burning to dvd.the part that matters is the overall bitrate.bluray media can have a max bitrate of 48mbps.and hd on a dvd cant have a total bitrate of anything more than  16mbps.thats why if ynu try to use mpeg which is 25mbps your bitrate is to high and wont play.
