Hi All,
I've been taping and trading for over 20 years. Though I have taken a bit of a break in recent years, I'm back. Things have changed and I'd like to start a conversation with other experienced tapers about venue security and the issues they pose to the stealth taper; specifically, getting gear into a show. I can share what has worked for me and am looking for your ideas. Let's talk over PM. Check my username to see what I have uploaded in years past.
Thanks!

^ I was just going to post that.
Definitely isn't common (unless there are a lot of lurkers) but still relevant.
I don't stealth, so have no say in it, but in the OP he does say he wants to talk through PMs.

I mean a picture of my disguised equipment is just a photo of me...

If you have been taping for 20 years, then WTF? You already know what to do.
-
I learned everything I know about stealth taping from What's Happening? That works right?
-
I refuse to discuss getting gear into the show.

I don't see how it can be done...

Lets not talk about security

I don't know if venues and artists management take their rules on taping seriously anymore. You can't bring a dedicated recorder in a show in most cases to big venues, but you can bring your iphone in most cases and record from that. Technically these people recording from their phone are taping. Doesn't make much sense to me on why we still have rules against taping and security (who I have to remind myself are only doing their job) to combat it.
