Stock R-4 ... to mod or not?
« on: June 09, 2016, 03:44:15 PM »
So after about four years of taping I finally broke down and got a second set of mics - well, an LSD2 to be specific - and want to play around with four channels on my R-4.

Right now I'm running a UA-5 digimod through to the recorder so the analog inputs haven't been of much concern to me, but I can't run two digital channels and two analog.

Long story short, what's the general consensus on mods for the R-4?  Obviously YMMV most of the time, but since I primarily record loud jammy shows, is it going to be demonstrably advantageous to send off to Busman/Oade for upgrades?

Thanks in advance for your input!
