All in all, as crazy as all this talk is, Kevin, you'll be fine running hole ornot. It doesn't matter.
+T to Mike as always ;)

does it fit snugly and completely seated in your s/pdif out?

Thanks for the big T bump!
I had a switchcraft in there (the one im replacing) and it didnt fit snuggly.  The reason I need a new one is because i tried to make it fit snuggly and 2 out of the 4 pieces of the rim snapped.  But if 2 fit snuggly will it work ok? ( im referring to the outer circle)

I broke a monster cable rca end once trying to open it a bit! :angry2:

Cut it off and resolder. I don't know of any other 90* r.a. ends... Good luck
what do you mean (90* r.a end??)
also are you saying to resolder a whole new spdif? or solder the two ends back on? (im assuming a whole new one, but just thought id make sure ::)

I called about the connector today and the reason that mine has a hole is because the orginal 3502's had it so people could run the wire up the hole then solder it and let the solder be sucked back down the hole and then cut off the excess solder.  Thanks again for all who put up with my bullshit, just wanted to make sure I was getting the right part. ;D

i bought one of those rat shack adapters and found it to be a very loose connection.  i played around w/ it at home and it dropped the signal w/ very slight movement.
