Title: list of CF cards that DO NOT WORK in the MT or other gear.
Post by: Nick's Picks on May 01, 2006, 05:38:40 PM
we are all well aware that the Marantz boxes only like brand name Flash.
but what about the MT?
I ask because I'm seeing these sick ass deals on 8gb cheapo cards on eBay.
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=8gb+CF

Even though I know that 24/96 "aint all that" over 24/48, but i'll be damn'd if I can't convince myself not to buy a big CF card so that I can record at that rez.

geekin' !

I do not know many of the CF cards that work for sure with the MT, but so far, no one including me has reported any problems with the very good priced Sandisk Ultra II 8 GIG card used at any rate mode in the the MT deck.

One report of having trouble formating this card in MT and in a computer reader, but this seems an uncommon exception; maybe just a failed card, or some kind of system formating difficulty that might take some tenacity to get past.

trouble...as in it wouldn't work?

the Sandisc 8gb card is a fine little chip, but the cheapo's are 1/2 the price still.

Indeed. Posted about it here some time ago.
MT formatting did not end. Card shows up as some insane amount of blocks to Windows.
Could not be reformatted again.
Writing at block level would not work anymore.
Second card acted same.
