Am I correct that the 9v internals he refers to aren't rechargeable in the box?  That is, more like the NBox, every 10hrs use, you have to crack it open and replace them?

Or it is like the Oade boxes, which have internal rechargeables that you recharge via AC adapter?

they are standard 9v, not rechargeable internals

I think Jerry now offers an option to get the Aerco with a rechargeable li-ion. A friend had one installed into his Aerco. I think it's around $150

You can also get it with a DC jack that runs off of 9v DVD batteries.

Absolutely -- that's how I used to run mine. I think when it is plugged into the DC, it switches off the batteries, so ideally you can have the internals in there as a backup in case your external gets drained or becomes unplugged. I could never find a plug that would fit snugly with the DC jack on mine. The plug I used worked, but it kept coming loose. A few layers of tape and rubber bands solved the problem, but definitely not ideal.
