Title: USBpre2 AUX outs
Post by: acidjack on July 13, 2011, 01:07:41 PM
The manual seems to imply that the RCA AUX outs will only output computer sound (and not mics)... is that accurate?  In particular, although not my main use, I'd like to be able to go USBpre2>M10 via the RCAs to a miniplug.  Has anyone done/tested this?  Is there a DIP switch that needs to be changed in order to make that happen?  I know I could go XLR>mini as well, but I don't have an adapter for that, and do have several for RCA.

The manual Pg 6 does seem to read that way but the block diagram Pg 18 shows in standalone mode signal is passed to Aux output.  Never tried it but it should be ok

confirmed, I just thought about that. I use it as a DAC but in standalone mode since there is something wrong with the usb audio routing on mine (went back to SD last week). My routing was optical in bound, aux out.

I have done rca out to m10. Additionally, the audio can be delivered to xlr, rca and spdif simultaneously.

I've also done AUX out rca to miniplug into M10.

I recently contacted SD support to ask whether the signal from the AUX out is identical to the signal from the MAIN out (XLR out) and got the following reply:

"The difference would be that the AUX outs are unbalanced outputs and the XLRs are balanced. The signal itself will be the same."

Well, that settles it.  Thanks!   ;D
