Anybody got suggestions on this? I know some of you out there are running the active mods. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Charles, go with a wmod UA5. Price is right and you'll have a good rig. If you're looking to stealth, skip the bulky pre and find an SBM1.

Here's an idizzle..
if you were to only use them for stealthing. the Naks just need 9v
all the AT units do is convert 52-48v down to 9v to power electret condenser mics via phantom power source.

Save some dough on the AT8533's and phantom power,
get yo'self a Sound Pro's battery box.

it will make your stealth setup so much smaller, and more inexpensive.

Sounds pretty light... Leegeddy Naks > battery box > A/D > JB3
or you could skip the A/D for those really stealthy shows and just go line in to the jb3.

edit:
Raoul,
the AT8533's aren't going to be of any use infront of and SBM-1
all the same i would think a battbox would be your best/most inexpensive route on a franken-nak stealth rig

Live rig: DPA 4021 > V3 > iHP-120

Vinyl rig: Music hall 5.1 w/acrylic platter > Ortofon Quintet Black > Pro-Ject Tube-Box II > V3 > UA-5

Oops! I'm a little confused on this AT8533 thingy. I'm still waiting for my Frankens, but I was wrong on what the AT thing was doing. Is this stuff gonna plug into my V3? Or do I need some goofy adapters out of the AT modules? Then I'll have the phantom on on the V3? Still need phantom between the Frankens and an SBM1. Stupid me!

t;
the at8533x will go directly into your v3's input with p48 on.

Modules have to be there, no matter how you run them. For open taping I'll be running mine into V3. For stealth, I'm not sure. You could have an inexpensive stealth rig by using the following:

Pair of Franken Naks - ~300(mics around 150 per pair, +mod at 150ish)
MP2 - ~450(if you can find one)
stock SBM1 - ~350
Dat - ~200

Not bad at 1300 and very stealthy. I just made a nos kwon bar for my Franken Naks, using a 12 inch Sabra hex bar(with Sabra mic clip holders), Audix mic clips(which hold the Frankens perfectly) and a Schoeps A20s in the center of the hex bar. Obviously the hex bar won't sit snuggly in the shockmount, so I had to machine(out of plastic) an adapter to fit around the hex which then fits snuggly in the mount. I also have a shorter hex bar for ortf and x/y.
