Anyone actually able to get 3hrs out of a JB3?!
« on: July 14, 2003, 10:57:34 AM »
So I've been running my JB3 for about 6 shows now and can't seem to get the little bastard to run longer then 2 hours and some change (like 15 minutes usually).

Is this battery not conditioned or what?  I just lost the last song and encore on Saturday of a friends band and it's getting a little old  :angry2:  :angry3:

Will I get a whole 4 hours outta this thing w/two batteries?  Did you guys condition the batteries or something first?

I'm coming optical in from a UA-5.  Sounds great, just wish I could record a whole show!  ::)

Nick--

Are you turning it off when not recording?
did you set the lite to 3 sec?

Only things i can think of  :banging head:

I have only run 1 battery once and got like 2:45 before they died  ???

I bought xtra batteries right after buying the jb3, i have run for close to 7 hours on 2 batteries ;D ;D

I am turning it off during setbreak but I have my light set to 15 seconds (the max)!

Guess that'd make some difference but can't believe it's shaving off a half hour of run time!  I'll have to change that and see what results I get, thanks for the advice!

In some ways I miss the old D7 and rechargable AA's, I could get 4 hours, light on the whole time :)

Same here.

But before i knew better. I ran it with the back light on and only got about an hour and a half out of record time of it. With thirty mins. of setbreak with the light on.

Yeah that light will eat up some battery...get used to the flashlite 8)

i dont even touch the jb3 once i start recording , so i odnt accidentally turn the lite on

xtra batteries are a must with this thing though :spin:

Speaking of extra batteries, has anyone had luck finding them at "brick and morter" stores?

I know Wal-Mart sells the JB3 but no accessories, no luck at Best Buy, etc.  I just prefer paying and having something the same day..

edit: +T to bush too for helping me figure this out, didn't realize the light was such a sucker, def. have to stick to the flashlight!

I use two batteries with mine and have plenty of power even having it on the whole time with the light set at 30 secs and checking it occasionally throughout the show. Just the other night I had it on for close to six hours and recorded 3-1/2 hours and it still showed three bars on the meter. Get that second battery and you will never have to worry. I even start my recording well before the band comes out just so I don't have to be a freak when they do come out and dive for the recorder. Its pretty nice having plenty of space and power. ;D

Ran 2 hours tonight without even dropping a bar on the battery meter.  Huge!

i have 2 batts, light set at 3 seconds (i check levels a few times a set) the biggie is TURNING OFF IR REMOTE that saves a ton of juice. over the weekend i recorded 6.5hrs and still had enough battery power to listen to about 5hrs of tunes..... the batts also seem to need conditioning alot ( i do it every other week just in case). oh yah, one more thing i was using the analog in .... no idea how that effects battery times.

Hmmm, I have my IR remote on and still get plenty of power, that's interesting. I will be seeing SCI with two openers soon and I'm a little worried about power, guess I will try that then. Thanks.

Searching for an answer to this question as well.  Thanks!
