MixPre 3 and USB-C wall charger
« on: May 16, 2018, 01:20:06 PM »
Sure this has been covered already. What is best alternative wall charger for MixPre? I keep coming across the ANKER psu, but has anyone experienced hum with this?

I just use the one that came with my phone (Pixel XL). Works fine.

I think anything that puts out 3 amps will work.

I bought one that worked from our local PC World. USBC output @45W. It seems OK,but with no mics attached via XLR, the XLR release tabs cause hum when touched.
No other metal parts seemed 'live'.
That was the only issue I could find.

A little off topic but I think this is the most relevant spot without starting a new thread.

Android Central reviewed the best CAR chargers for the new USB-C Pixel phones from Goog. I don't have one of them, but I do have a big Anker USB-C pack that I might want to charge in a car some time!

The list includes four units from three makers. Three have a USB-C port and a USB-A port. (the Spigen has two A's) The other difference seems to be whether both the C & A ports are the highest capacity. Modern droid phones on USB-A support "quick charge" and some of the adapters do, but some don't.
