D/K still in preorder.
I thought that it might be of interest to a few on the board

Polish Symphony(putting jokes on hold) gets a lot
of accolades in Europe, so I would think so.
I wonder how they mic'd it.     ???

Couldn't be CSBs if it truly is a transistor-free recording.  It had to be tubed mics :)

The real question is what was the A>D process?
SB2 / Rega P1 > Modified Dynaco PAS2 > Modified Dynaco MK-IV monoblocks> Axiom M22 v2

A/D was very likely tube/transformers like the Manley.

What I'd like to see is the gaseous-tube laser that burned the DVD-A !    ;D

I believe the manley's only a mic pre -- I'd suspect that a tube-based a>d without any transistors/integrated circuits would fill a VERY large room (or so . . . .)

I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Actually, I think that I have a tube D/A circuit that is pretty small, but you're right, an A/D would be a monster.
I can't wait to read the liner notes.

BTW, I scoured Manley's site and they did make a A/D, but it seems to be dual-mono, solid state:
