Odd loss of levels in a sony M-10
« on: April 13, 2016, 03:32:43 AM »
So I was recording a show last night, and not monitoring the recording continuously, set the levels, walked away from the rig.  I checked in from time to time, everything seemed fine.  98 minutes in there was an encore.  After the encore, the recording levels start dropping, so that by 2 to 3 minutes in there is nothing at all, and the last 15 minutes of the show were lost.  I've screwed up nearly every possible way over the time I've had this, but  I can't figure out what happened here.  I had CA-14s attached to the line through a preamp, and the battery in that was changed just 2 shows back, and still is fine.  Batteries in the recorder are fine as well.  The rec level had not been moved from where I left it.  Upon noticing the complete lack of levels after the show, I stopped the recording, and then started a new one, and levels came back at a level expected for a post show environment.  Any ideas as to what might have happened?
