30dB pad on mic cable
« on: October 12, 2012, 11:02:39 PM »
I understand that a dB attenuator reduces the signal coming in to a preamp but, is -30dB pad too much.

Maybe I am not understanding this but, I wanted to know if this cable is not the right cable/s to use.

Thanks for your help.

Richard.

That's too much $$ and you might not need attenuation all the time. 30db is also a lot. Get the 12s from Jon, they'll do you right in most situations, and you can use them with your existing cables.

I found this >>>>>

https://eventhorizon-srv.com/ecommerce/os/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2744

looks real nice.

no dB pad, striaght lines mic > pre.

a little pricey but, they look worth it.

Thanks for the input. I thought that the 30dB pad was not supposed to be there either. Just wanted to make sure.

If you're just looking for snaked cables, contact tgakidis here on the board. Great workmanship and prices!
