DVD-Audiofile for windows
« on: October 27, 2005, 10:32:47 AM »
http://199.224.117.240/~scb/index.php?path=dvd-audiofile

YOU NEED JAVA INSTALLED TO USE THIS

This app should allow you to drop your wav files or flac files (flac preferred) to the file window and create a dvd-audio image (iso format).

in version 0.2 i added progress indicators.

version 0.3 now actually reads the file headers and displays times and disc size, so you should know how big the disc is.  it also shows sample rate and bit depth.  it also *should* stop you if you try to add files that are different bit depths/sample rates

version 0.3.1 - added clear button for the tracklist, added tracknumber.  added "about" text

verison 0.4 added all 9 groups

please let me know if this does or doesn't work for you.  it's barely tested, since i don't have many audio files here at work (and i'm a mac guy, not a pc guy! :) )

thanks, I'll give it a spin tonight... quick question though - why does it prefer flac as opposed to wav?
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

the underlying dvd-author tool packs pcm audio into .AOB files, which are the files in the AUDIO_TS directory that contain the audio data.  it hangs on certain kinds of wav files if the header isn't what it expects.

with flac files, the header is standard (since flac made it that way when converting), so it can easily extract the audio data out.

OK, cool.  Is it the same scripts that were used in the little .bat file that Sleepy made?  It was choking for me when I tried .wavs b/c there were no flacs in the directory, so the "flac decoder" quit, thus quitting the whole process.

Awesome!  I'm totally stoked to try it out!  +T in 12.  I'll let you know how it goes (later tonight, that is).

ah, my little .bat file enjoyed its 5 minutes of fame before it was stomped upon by a GUI!

just joking, big thanks scott for getting this together!

(and yeah, to reply to your PM to me -- i got some weird crashes when i tried to exit the GUI, but other than that it looked okay to me.)

I tried this out earlier today and it seemed to work well.  I had zero problems with it although I have yet to play it on a 24bit playback system to *actually* test it out.  I'm assuming it works, though.  What an improvement in ease of use to the DiscWelder products.  Drop flac files in.  Make Iso.  Burn image in Nero.  Play.  Duh.

+T Scott, thanks for the app.
