Edirol - corrupted file, what does this sound like? Bad SD card?

I've posted these two versions of the same sample, what happened to my edirol this morning.  This is the second time in the last two weeks, recording every day, that a file has become corrupted like this.  The last time it happened I reformatted the SD card, hoping that would solve the problem.  The edirol is paired with an audio-techinca AT-897. It recorded just fine for almost an hour and half, then this happened.  Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

I haven't updated the firmware since I got it in August actually. But it's been running with the same SD card since then with no problems.  I don't have the machine in front of me for a few hours so I can't say just now which version I am running. Should I upgrade the firmware anyway? It's only a 2GB card.

I hear the same thing repeated. My best guess would be that it has to do with the buffering of data. Perhaps a bad cluster on the media could contribute to this.  I don't know for sure.

Getting the latest firmware is probably a good bet.

Is it possible that it was running out of space on the card when this happened?

Nope, there were 800MB plus of space left on the card, and plenty of battery as well.  BTW I record in 44khz 16 bit WAV.
