Hifi and Speaker recommendations

I am looking to upgrade my old hifi. I would like to spend $2,000 but may be more. My room is like 12 by 16 so don't want to get some thing to big. I would like to get speakers that can sit on some thing like a bookshelf. I was looking at the Exposure 2010s integrated amp and Spendor S3/5se loudspeakers. I want to know what you all think about them or what you would recommend for the same money. One thing I am looking for is some thing that I am not going to want to upgrade in like a month or two. Some thing that will give me room to grow. As far as sound I would like some thing warm in sound.

just one thing to consider- you might consider getting a really nice set of bookshelf speakers with a sub so that should you ever want to move to a surround setup the bookshelfs can be moved to the back to add on fronts.

Hey Brian,
It was great talking with you Sunday.  With the 3/5se stand mounts, you'll likely need the Visonik Sub 10.2 we discussed.  The 3/5se's are -6 db down at 70 Hz.  They do just fine by themselves with some types of music, but not necessarily for rock and roll.

Forget that, high end audio gear purchased used is USUALLY in excellent condition. I have bought & sold tons of used pieces. The only reason to purchase new is to support a retailer, whether it be local or not IMO.

I'll throw in my reccomendation of Magnepan speakers.  They are power hungry but sound nice.....
