These aren't 75ohm are they?  Which raises the question, does that matter?

The one that im replacing on my 7-pin has a hole in the spdif, why does it have it?  Does that right angle at the top on this thread have a hole? does it matter?

what do you mean by "have a hole in it"? do you mean "a female end"? i just bought a female > male right angle adapter at radio shack two days ago.

ill post a pic in a sec, but try to picture this-> the pin thats coming out (male piece of the coax) and if you were to take a needle and poke it with it then that would be the one one there now.  Does anyone else have one like this? or do you have ones without this and still recieve a signal from your pre?  my 7-pin has an input coax and output coax

All in all, as crazy as all this talk is, Kevin, you'll be fine running hole ornot. It doesn't matter.

does it fit snugly and completely seated in your s/pdif out?

Thanks for the big T bump!
I had a switchcraft in there (the one im replacing) and it didnt fit snuggly.  The reason I need a new one is because i tried to make it fit snuggly and 2 out of the 4 pieces of the rim snapped.  But if 2 fit snuggly will it work ok? ( im referring to the outer circle)

I broke a monster cable rca end once trying to open it a bit! :angry2:

Cut it off and resolder. I don't know of any other 90* r.a. ends... Good luck
what do you mean (90* r.a end??)
also are you saying to resolder a whole new spdif? or solder the two ends back on? (im assuming a whole new one, but just thought id make sure ::)

I called about the connector today and the reason that mine has a hole is because the orginal 3502's had it so people could run the wire up the hole then solder it and let the solder be sucked back down the hole and then cut off the excess solder.  Thanks again for all who put up with my bullshit, just wanted to make sure I was getting the right part. ;D

i bought one of those rat shack adapters and found it to be a very loose connection.  i played around w/ it at home and it dropped the signal w/ very slight movement.
