seems to be just what the doctor ordered except that it's powered on 12v's... that's kind of pain in the ass considering other phantom boxes are powered off of internal batteries (9v's usually). But I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Yeah...
I had one for a little while. It worked fine.
I think it works with (2) 9v in the field.

Edit:
Get the PB224, it provides phantom power to two microphones.
It is powered with (2) 9vdc batteries
Provides: 20mA

I dumped it when I started using the Oktava's, because it wasn't providing enough voltage with the high current drain MC012's.

It looks like it will power two microphones.
That particular unit doesn't use (2) 9v batteries like the PB224. You'd have to carry a 12v to power it in the field. If you use it in a studio or somewhere with AC you'd be good to go with that AC/DC adapter.

What microphones are you going to use with it?
As I mentioned earlier it might not supply enough juice if you run higher current microphones.

right now I have min-mic and batt box...
I'm just trying to get an idea on a total mic/power price...
this only puts out 48v....will that work on most mics?
edit:  I have found one that takes 2 9v batteries in the feld...
I'm about to buy mics (looking) and just want to be able to power em.....

I have used the PB224 and it is a total piece of crap.  There is a reason it is so cheap.  One of the channels crapped out on me after a few monthes of use and I took very good care of it.

heres something simular, but powered by 2 9v's.  Cheaper as well.  i would go this route, unless you wanna build a battery pack, which wouldnt be to tough.  good luck.

I used the pb224 for a while it worked fine but not the best built unit. Runs for a long time on the 2 9 volts
