Title: Polyphonic Spree last night!
Post by: 1st set only on August 15, 2003, 11:11:52 AM
Great Show Ive been a fan for a few months and have yet to see them untill last night. WOW! I will shamelessly promote this band untill the cows come home. I talked with Tim Delaughter before the show, very nice person as was the rest of the band he was very taken back from all of the recent publicity [Ipod/beetle commercials].

The show came out good. Oktava hyper ortf>UA-5>JB3 (from balcony) I dont think ORTF was the way to go though, the sound is a bit spaced ill have to listen to it on my home system though I might be wrong.

Got some questions and some info for you tapers that will go to the paradise (Boston) in the future...

Since the Spree alow board access (only if you do a matrix and ask nicely) I wanted to take advantage of this. The problem was that the board only had XLR or 1/4" outputs, no RCA.  Can you Plug XLR cables directly from a soundboard into a UA-5? Im assuming yes and all you have to do is turn off the phantom power.  PLEASE correct me if I am wrong! Also what would you recomend for a XLR to RCA converter if thier is one.

Oh Corm Mo opened up. what a laugh, very fun! he is like a mix of meatloaf + a few dozen 80's hair band power ballad singers + Weird Al (only because he plays an accordian)
