Hydra design cable comparison
« on: July 25, 2006, 10:26:15 AM »
I was just curious how much of a diffrence my new Hydra design cables I just got from Nick'sPicks
would be from my Canare's (DA206 305 not sure if they are star quads I got them from hzgone back in 04' they were customs built for Hzgone) (As if there was any doubt how silvers would hold up near Canares)

I figured if anyone was interested in Nick's cables this may be helpful.
I loved the sound of the Hydra's from the first time I plugged them in!!

I ran the same song from the same position at the same volume for both cables with
spC3's DIN > each cable > Bm2p+ UA5 > JB3 via optical @ 44.1 >usb > Wavelab

Here is a sample zoomed in to show the detail. I have attached sample below of the canare's
The canares compared to the Hydras look real sloppy where the Hydra's are tight and detailed.

any chance you can line up the two wavs so that they are both on the same time marker...so that we can look at one wav vs the other wav and be looking at both of them at the same time marker on both?

The files are aligned each recording started slighty before each other that is why the two boxes are offset (notice the downslope at the end matches)
If you were to play the files in the screenshot they are matched

I would be happy to match the time marks if anyone knows how to do it I'm not sure how.
