I have a pair of AKG c460 and a pair of AKG c480 amplifiers, along with ck61 and ck63 caps.  I would like to move to an active cable setup, but don't know if there will be a change in the sound using the actives with Naiant PFA.  Does anyone have experience with this change?  Any info would be great.  Thanks

Someone did a comp when the actives first came out. I noticed a difference and preferred the bodies. That is not to say it was a big difference or the actives sounded bad. There are plenty of recordings of there with actives that sound good.

having owned all 3 at the same time... I think you will find the actives to sound less "punchy" than the 480s
to me the 480s seem to have alot of high end boost the 460 do not have due to the transformers in the 460s
the actives do not have the low end warmth of the 460s, but sometimes that isn't necessary

I really love the sound of the 480's, but want the size and weight of actives.  Maybe I will borrow an active set and see how I feel about it.  I just don't want to lose quality for convenience.
