Deck with XLR inputs
« on: June 10, 2018, 11:22:37 AM »
I am looking to get a deck that I can run my Busman's into. Doesn't need to be 4 channel, could be 2 channel. Tascam and Zoom have a lot to offer. Any particular one I should be seeking out? If you have something for sale in the Yard, please feel free to message me. TIA.

There's a lot to say on this topic, but right off the bat a big question is you budget.

Having access to 4 tracks is nice in case of a soundboard feed, even if you only ever plan to run one pair of mics.

I'd say $300 or less on budget.

I have a Tascam DR-100 mkII and have been using the XLR inputs on it exclusively for the last year or so. I really like it. The mkIII is probably just as good, but is several years newer and thus more expensive. I haven't listed it anywhere yet but recently have been thinking about selling it (I'll be moving up to a beefier recorder soon, so the Tascam would probably just collect dust), so if you investigate this model and it sounds like what you're after shoot me a PM.
