Charlie Hunter Taping Questions??
« on: July 26, 2003, 11:37:56 PM »
I'm gonna tape Charlie Hunter next week and was wondering if anyone had some Charlie taping experience...if so, where would you recommend setting up?? On-Stage seems like a good possibility depending on the monitor situation...perhaps setting up on stage (ORTF??) between charlie and john (sax player)...i'm sure there will be plenty of drums any where i set up on stage...

thanks for the help...

I taped at the Knitting Factory in NYC last week and was just infront of the stage. 2 things to know:

1) For that particular stage, there wasn't enough room to go onstage and DJ logic was the guest = needed to get some of the house sound.

2) Charlie asked me to go below head height b/c he had been getting email complaints about people who had blocked views.

It was quite a show - two hour-long sets, completely improvised.

Hunter/Previte/DJ Logic ... cool as all hell. I stayed through the late set.
