ISO: RA power supply cable for Portico 5012
« on: March 15, 2009, 08:44:41 PM »

Hello,

I'm in search of someone to make a 18", RA on both ends, battery cable for a Portico 5012 - I threw one together that gets the job done but I'd like a more "finished" cable than the "RatShack Adaptaplug M" cable that I put together.

What guage wire would do a more than adequate job for this power cable?  I may wind up producing this myself...

I'm using a Battery Geek  BG 10-14-100 battery.  This info from Rupert Neve on the Portico end:

From: Michael Glass [mailto:michael@rupertneve.com]

Subject: Portico Series Power

Mr. Lawrence,

Thank you for contacting Rupert Neve Designs. The power connects to a standard female barrel style connector. The dimensions are as follows:

5.5mm outside diameter , 2.1mm inside diameter, and 11mm depth.

The connector is center positive, 12Volts DC, and approximately 1 amp per Portico. The power plug is protected against reversed polarity. Do not, under any circumstances feed using an AC power supply.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at support@rupertneve.com

Thank you,

Michael Glass

Hey Dave, did you get your cable? How much did it run you? I may end up gettting one myself.

Mike,

No cable yet but I'm sure that Ed will produce a very nice one.  You should PM Ed too...
