V2 Powering Question
« on: August 23, 2004, 09:48:29 PM »
Can a V2 be powered by 12 vts ?
This one is set and running on 6vdc, but I've become a 12volt man......

yes, the only difference is the settings for the low battery and shutoff levels.  You can recalibrate these yourself (I recalibrated mine for a 7.2v Nimh pack).  Apparently the V2 runs a little warm on 12v (linear regulator burning off the extra voltage).

why in god's name would you carry 12v's when yuu can carry 6v's?
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

The FR-2t goes on 12vts. Was hoping to not need separate packs.
Probably will use the built in pre most of the time.

I'm just planning my next move, which would be an O/B pre for certain mics and situations.

Thanks for the info.
