Title: Recorder recommendation? (preferably 4ch, miniplug)
Post by: mcforce on June 05, 2017, 03:13:14 PM
Hi all,

a friend of mine is looking to buy a new recorder and asked me for recommendations. I've been away from taping for a while, not sure what new recorders are out there. (I myself have a Tascam Dr-2d). So I'm asking you...

Needed:
- 3.5mm miniplug for line-in/mic-in (not necessarily needed is PiP as she uses an external battery box)
- 24bit/96 kHz
- suitable for stealth recording
- price range: up to 500 USD
- battery runtime: at least two and a half to three hours
- preferably 4 channel (real 4ch from 2 external sources eg. external Mics for AUD plus Line for SBD)

Would consider a 2 channel recorder as well.
Would be nice if it had biult-in mics with decent quality (as a backup)

I recommended a Zoom H4N, but wanted to hear your recommendations.

Thanks
- Kirsten

A lot of people here like the TASCAM DR70D:

There's extensive discussion on the forum.
