any thought about 4 channel ato d , no need for preamps with aes outs  and world clock/video  reference
small enough to sit inside the bag ,24/48 maximum
or pair extra small 2 channels with wc synchronization
dc powered must 12-18 v .

...can't get enough of nothing!

Did your friend consider that maybe he got a basically accurate recording of a bad P.A. system and/or a terrible-sounding performance venue? When you aim good microphones at ugly sound, the resulting recording will not be beautiful.

you would still need a pre as it is a balanced line in unit.

I read the above as meaning, "I don't want preamps, but I do want AES outs," but given the sentence construction of the OP many interpretations are clearly possible.  The mixer you link to is pretty nice.  I spent some time fiddling with one at AES last year.  It did seem large in comparison to some of the common bag rig mixers. How does it compare to other mixers you have used in terms of flexibility and convenience

yep that would be perfect
that to feed the camera directly aes inputs
the sony has only one dual converter so not enough as iam going to feed 4 channels

Your welcome, FWIW they make a lot of products for video so they are probably well familiar with your application.  Markertek is one source.
