DPA 4061 Need to be repaired--where?
« on: August 07, 2007, 03:03:36 AM »
I have used my DPA 4061's since I bought them used on ebay about 18 months ago. I've had no problems with them until tonight. The mics are terminated into a 1/8" stereo jack and when I plugged them in tonight, I could only get one channel to record. I tried everything I could think of to get both channels, but it never happened.

I tested the iriver when I got home tonight with my Sonics and had no issues.

What I'm asking is that since these weren't bought through DPA would they still look at them? How much? Or is there somebody out there that could look at them for me and see if they can be fixed? I think I may just have a short somewhere, but I don't know. Does Sound Professionals do stuff like this?

thanks in advance...

S, I bet the 1/8 miniplug connection is messed up (on your mic set).  Usually, these mics do not go out with a bang....have Busman or some one in the NW area do the solder work or try and do it yourself: three terminals, 4 wires to solder.

Ha ha!

You have me mistaken with somebody who knows his way around fragile equipment!

I think the 1/8 miniplug connection is messed up too. That's why I was hoping I could possibly find somebody to help me out here. I may have to hunt Busman down.
