Firmware Enhancements:

Adds support for up to 16,000 songs
Enables autoscrolling of track titles when the player is idle
Adds a Time & Date display
Allows continuous recording past the 10 hour mark with Wired Remote if sufficient hard disk space is available
Adds the Selected Music option to the main menu
Displays queued playlists as groups rather than flat lists in the Selected Music screen
Adds the Play any track option to the Music Library menu
Adds the Reset Settings option to the Settings menu
Adds a new skin for the Now Playing screen

does this new firmware have any noticeable bugs???

because the seamless function seems phatty, and once you hit that button, you can go 3 more hrs!!!

just wondering because id like that function when i get a jb3!!!

fyi - that button does the same thing in the previous firmware - it's just not seamless.  There's a 10 second or less delay.  You can usually find some point where that works when you've got up to 3 hours to do it.

I got teh seamless track splitting to work just fine, well, acutally it worked perfect. Very happy with it. Victor Wooten did one 3.5 hour set so I had no choice. I hit the FF button and after it saved it was already on 7 seconds of the new recording. Went home, put them together and you cant even tell.

Check out the Yahoo JB3 group.  People seem very happy with the new firmware, and no reported bugs.  I am using it, and it is working great so far.

A note about the "seamless" recording.  It is not absolutely seamless, unfortunately, there is a very small but noticeable break.  Taken from Yahoo groups:  



When you are finished recording, press the [STOP] button (the one below the
[>] or [PLAY] button). You will see a prompt that says "Processing ..."
while the file is being closed, then "Saved".  With OS 1.40.06, when you
press the FastForward [>>] button, the Jukebox will save the current recording
and start a new file with a very minimal gap.  Creative claims a "seamless"
transition (implying no dropped samples), however users report between 10-30
samples are actually dropped.  This is less than a half-second and is much
faster than a DAT tape change is.

i've seriously had success with every firmware update i've downloaded as long as i keep it clean (formatted/disc cleanup) before i go recording.
