JB3 - best place to buy?
« on: December 30, 2003, 04:30:52 PM »
My 7 yr old boy now wants an MP3 player (so he can listen to headphones while he skateboards!) and I was thinking of spending way too much for way too many features and just getting this handy little box. Are there still any rebates going on? Thanks!

cheapest place might be buying a refurb from creative on ebay if they are still there

creative rebates are terrible. takes a long time, and someone on this board got a check that was allready expired!

I don't know if I would want one of those for listening while I was skateboarding... might be a little too cumbersome...

I would think that one of the ones that runs on CF or SD or something like that might be a little better, if that is the only use you or your son will have for it...

also... one spill on top of that JB3, and it could be toast...

but I got mine from buy.com

my $000000000.02

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

i would stay away from the JB3 because it has a spinning hard disk, and *could* skip or srew up while moving around...i would get one of those flash based mp3 players, they hold alot less music but they would work great while sakeboarding. plus any 7 year old would take a long time to fill up 20 gigs worth of space on a JB3.  just my .02

Yeah, I just thought if I were gonna spend about $100 for a MP3 player, I would spend another $100 and get something new to play with. But I see they're closer to $400 so I'm getting a $50 TDK from Best Buy. Thanks for the voices of reasons!
