jb3 question. not connected?
« on: January 11, 2004, 07:41:54 PM »
i just got a jb3 and was trying to get it operational, but am running into a problem with the creative play center not recognizing that the jb3 is connected.  i have updated to the latest firmware and have tried it with the notmad explorer, but it is still not recognized.  also tried searching the forums here and on nomadness but found nothing.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Get the updated drivers.  There is another thread where Brian gave me the link somewhere.

Sounds like the exact problem I had, w/ firewire.

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

Is the unit idle?  Or did it power down?  I got a njb3 recently and noticed i would lose connection after a few minutes, i went into the settings and set the idle time to 15 minutes before it powers down (or something to that effect).  Do you have a soundblaster card?  It seems that playcenter only works with soundblaster cards.

Have you tried powering down, then powering back up with the USB cable plugged in?  Before I switched from USB to firewire, my PC wouldn't recognize the JB3 after plugging in the USB cable unless I powered off and on again.

Also, if you don't want to deal with tech support just yet, check out the user forums at Notmad.  I forget the URL, but it's in the Archival Info section, JB3 Info thread.
