My Homebrew V3 RA Power Cable
« on: March 24, 2006, 11:32:56 PM »
Based on Leegeddy's design I whipped this one out today. Ordered a few Switchcraft S760K power connectors (an extra in case I fucked one up) and picked up a strain relief spring from RatShack and had some 18g wire, 4pin XLR and some techflex in my box of goodies. A little pre planning, careful soldering some well thought out heat shrink and presto - a nice heavy duty RA power cable for my V3 so it doesn't have to rest on the stock cable anymore in my bag!

Not bad for a first time shot huh?  ::)
Everyone should have one of these if you run a V3 vertical!!!   ;)

LoS :fish:

I'm not sure....perhaps we can work something out. I can let you know pretty quick what the basic materials cost, but not really sure what my time is worth. PM me and we can begin to barter.....

Great work man!

does the right angle coax piece induce any noise, or cause other problems?  Is that something you can get at Ratshack?
Socks are overrated.

Thanks...
No - the RA coax (SPDIF) adapter has never caused any noise issues and is beefy as shit. You can purchase at any RS near you  ;)
You may wish to support your V3 or other device with some sort of foam under the device to take some weight off the connector, but I've been running this way for some time now with no probs.
