Title: Bad heads
Post by: Brian Skalinder on August 26, 2003, 09:50:08 PM
Many DAT decks don't have hour counters.  How to tell if the heads are worn?  Once again, check out the Oade Bros website:

that's auctually drum wear. The two heads will get clogged with magnetic debris... Hence A-B Heads, while one is leaving the tape, the next is entering the tape.......

Additional information on cleaning DAT decks and general information on upkeep and repair.  Good pics of the inside of a Panasonic home deck while doing a wet cleaning.
