Topic: Anybody ever cut off DPA´s microdots and modded to a single 1/8" stereo plug?

I modded my dpa 4061 from microdots to a single 3.5mm stereo plug yesterday.
Me noob, took me 4 hours to realize the non-ground of each mic is hidden below lots of yellow-shielding around the very thin conductor.

So for each mic you have
- the ground(silver coloured)
- the yellow-shield of the main-conductor
- and hidden within the yellow-shield is the main-conductor(looks like beige carbon or plastic..somehow transparent, don´t know what it´s made of)

I pulled back the yellow shielding and taped it down to the cable.
Then I combinded both grounds(silver conductors) to the shaft(ground) of the 3.5mm plug.
Then I soldered the main-conductor to the left side(left mic) and right side/right mic) of the 3.5mm plug.

Learning by doing is really hard sometimes HAHA.
 

I almost freaked out  as I don´t have a "3rd-hand" yet and destroyed 1 single 3.5mm plug by adding too much solder-iron to the contacts thus they where short-cut and I got 1 channel only when testing it.

After several hours all was done.
Need to get a helping 3rd-hand today.....and several mini-plugs..you never know HAHA.

pic1: DON´T do that , the yellow shielding needs to be pulled backwards and taped...the tiny conductor hides inside the yellow stuff...didn´t see that when i started with my mod . also too much soldering-iron ON THE PLUG! happens when a noob tries to solder without a helping hand in the darkness .

pic2: bought some neutrik gold-plated 3.5mm stereo today...same as chris church uses....and a 3rd hand with a glass and now it took me only 30 minutes to resolder from my old to my new plug.
