Taping first show with a Oktava 319, any hints?
« on: August 26, 2013, 01:23:36 PM »
I will be taping my first show with an Oktava 319 this weekend.
Anyone have any hints on getting a good pull from it?

It is a Bill Sitler modified 319 using external power (Nady SMPS-2X) going into a Tascam DR-2D.
I will be running it mic-in since I will be getting a SBD feed as well.

The band is not taper friendly but they are friends of mine so they allow it for me.
I am hoping to be able to clamp it to the tent over the soundboard if there is one, other wise I will likely be mounting it to the board, but back far enough that it does not get bumped.
There is no option for a mic stand.

Most people seem to like to run the DR-2D at 67% input on mic-in, does this hold true for this mic?
I have a second, un-modded 319 I will be running also for a side-by-side comparsion.

Anyone runing these mics that can offer some hints?

Sometimes they end up with the soundboard on the side of the stage, any hints for that?

Thanks in advance
