« on: April 18, 2004, 09:25:37 PM »
I am just wondering everyone of the recordings I have gotten from this venue they are all of excellent quality?! I want to know if there is something different about this venue? I have some shity equipment used at some shows and they turn out with immaculate quality?! ??? its very weird! maybe some of you tapers that live in the S.F. area can tell me a little bit about this ampitheatre.

it's been my experience that unless the soundman is half brain-dead and doesn't know what the fudge he is doing it is pretty hard to pull a crappy sounding *outdoor* tape in ideal weather conditions(ie little wind...no phasing).  and to me this all because there is nothing for the sound to reflect off of that is close enough to your mics to affect the sound of your recording.

Don't let Alex see this thread. ;)
The Shoreline is a great venue. I love it. I guess the tapers there just know what they're doing. ;D
Which recordings do you have?
