Cost effective alternative to DPA DAO4010 ?
« on: January 04, 2016, 11:50:24 AM »
I own a pair of the 5' and 10' version of these cables and absolutely love them. Anyone know of any alteratives, they cost too much..

Thanks in advance..

Nothing (that I know of) that will fit flush like the DPAs.  You can get "chopped" XLRs, but they will add considerable length in comparison...

Thanks for the reply. I can even find slim xlr connectors like that to make my own

I think it is a proprietary design.  I looked for alternatives, although it was a couple of years ago, and didn't find much.  There were smaller-than-standard XLRs available, but nothing like the DAO4010s.  Maybe DPA would sell you some of the female connectors?  I don't know how much that would save you, in the end, but at least worth an e-mail to inquire...
