battery sled for r44
« on: October 21, 2011, 01:30:16 PM »
My external power supply is fried in my r44, got an update from oade saying he might not be able to repair it. Is there a way to attach power to the AA compartment, like a battery sled and some dummy AAs in there to get more power and be able to run phantom power.

any ideas would be appreciated

Is Oade an authorized Edirol/Roland repair center?  You should be able to have it sent to an authorized Roland service center to be repaired.

The R44 is a still currently in production even though it's branded Roland now instead of Edirol.  It looks like the power supply is a separate board, if so, even if a component level repair isn't possible a replacement power board should fix it.  Unless the Japan earthquake has caused parts shortages.

He replaced a part, but it worked for only 40 minutes or so, he said that he was going to try something else. I tcannot be serviced at an edirol center because it was a modded version. Hopefully a replacement of the board like you said will fix it. worst case scenario i have to try and find a way to power it through the AA compartment, but i don't know how to make a battery sled, or where to get one. Keep your fingers crossed for oade to fix it for me. :-\
