Has anyone ever taped a show where they had metal wands at the door
when you were trying to get stuff in to tape. If so how did you get
around this if you did at all.

Check the Archival Info section for a thread on sneaking gear into shows, including past metal detectors / wands.

One of those big rodeo style belt buckles helps.
(Plus, not much beats the sheer styling of a rodeo belt buckle!!!..hehe)

ah my crazy idea for sneaking things in with wands, its kinda a hassle, but would has a low percentage for fail..  ok, so you know in maternity stores that when a pregnant woman goes to buy clothes, they have fake bellies for them to wear showing what they might be in size when they are so far along in their pregnancy, so take that, your girlfriend, of a friend, preferably a girl.  make the belly it hollow, or just simply stash your rig in there somehow.  and then when they come up say i need to scan you, have her say no it will mess up my baby.. then they can't but they might check your pockets, but no big deal, its all under the belly.  i've yet to try this method, but i would think it would be really fun to try,... that one would have to have pics for the rig section huh..

That should be fair easy to do. Just put the MD in your waist line (just above your unit) and crotch the battery box. The mics can just about go anywhere; under a hat, in your sock, around your waist (like a belt) and even your hand (just keep your hands closed)...

Baggy pants help ;)

This is how I do it.... Mics in my hat, ready to go, JK Labs box in the waist line just above the "package" and the DAT deck goes on my waist line just above the arse. My SBM stays in my fanny pack... I just tell them its a mp3 player  ;D

Heh, the 'Been Caught Stealing' approach to stealthing. Nice!
Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."

crotch crotch crotch.
two pair of undies if you have no plastic baggies to put stuff in (pubes in deck.. I shudder at that though). hehe.

I dunno about the hat thing.. I've seen hats removed and inspected to many times to try that routine.

At one venue here in town (the roseland theatre) that has full metal detectors and all, I just go early to the bar downstairs kick a few back, and then go up to the main venue when they're letting people in. Bypass the metal detectors, and searches all together.
I've gotten my nak300's in and D8 IN my little carry bag no problems, no questions.

It is company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo - We have to use the indefinite article; "A" dildo, never: "YOUR" dildo.

And isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, ooh ooh ooh, the sky is the limit!
