Cables to patch sbd -> D7?

Yes, I am new at this. What type of connectors do I need also to patch from one DAT to another?
Also, any recommended tapes I should use in my D7?
Is the practice to resue the tapes or get a new one for each recording?
I am also looking for a stealth mic under $100 to get started, any recommendations?
