Title: Nylon Braided Paracord Covered Cables?
Post by: Life In Rewind on April 24, 2016, 07:32:59 PM
Is this stuff any good?

I see cables for cheap with this stuff as a covering from time to time...

Today Guitar Center has 4, 30 ft cables for 25 bucks...that's a lot of wire!

I don't need 30 footers...ever!  I'd cut 2 of them in half instantly - add jacks...etc...

There are also USB cables with "para" coating...

Looks like hippie pants spun on wire... ;D

Looks like it would collect lint...or not age well...

Gimmick??

I'm going to be building a new cable for my bass and am thinking of a DIY cable like this. If it doesn't work well, I'll remove it.  I posted a link below. Of course I'll be using solder. The link is just for reference on the rope material. I'm only planning on using this style because I like the way it looks. ;D

Id love to see the finished product! Especially since that rope can be had for really cheap! I'm going to see what Lowe's has and might grab a little myself! My Schoeps KCY would look pretty cool in this :)
