I have an old iriver h120 (which takes mini-optical in) which I'd like to use to transfer 32 khz DATs from a standalone DAT player. Does anyone have advice on what cable to use for this (I'm having trouble figuring out what would connect out of the DAT player)? Thanks in advance.

the iriver has a 1/8" optical input your DAT would have a toslink (or COAX)

Kinda depends on what the DAT machine has, no? You'd probably want a Toslink to mini Toslink, like this:

My DATs have coax. I have a cable like the one H2O posted but I can't figure out where the square end would connect to, so I think I either need to find an adapter or get a new cable. But I can't seem to find any cable that would have the right connections so I'm very confused.

If your DAT players only have COAX you will need to get a format converter like this:

Thanks! That solves the puzzle!
