Title: Tightening screws on an AKG CK1 cap
Post by: Brian G on August 15, 2017, 01:55:33 PM
So one of my CK1 caps and one of my CK3 caps grills seem to be loose. I can't find a screwdriver small enough to tighten them....I have tried a few Eye glasses screwdrivers, but still to big.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried using the corner of a razor blade?

Brian, Yes a jeweler should be able to.
I have tiny screwdrivers I use to work on computers, but do not know if even that tiny. when I get home I'll check my caps with the tiny set I own.

Quick update on this....My local Jewelry repair place wanted $25 to tighten a screw...so I jumped on ebay and bought a watch repair kit for $6.00 .  Had every small sized screwdriver you could think of , including one that fit the AKG CK1 screw perfectly. All fixed.

Look for a small screwdriver online, used for tightening the stems on glasses.  I found one locally at a Walgreens.  I keep it in my bag for adjusting the screws on my Naks.

Thanks again the kit worked great! Was able to tighten a ck1x capsule shell that was loose and fix a ck1 capsule that had a rattling sound inside. Oh....an you turn the screws counter clockwise to tighten lol
