The two bad reviews are from an I-Pad user who needed a higher amp out of the USB port and a netbook user who was pissy about not having the right tip supplied.  Guess he sjould learn to build his own cables  ;D

Great find Ted! I'm wondering how long this could power the AD2k+ before I go out and buy a Tekkeon.

QQ tho.. doesn't the mAh need to be specified at each voltage rating? I am guessing that's 13,200 mAh at 5v which is still 2k more than the Tekkeon.

Need to find a user manual to get the real numbers.  I found it looking for a high capacity 12v for my ad2k.  Right now I am running a tekkeon w/ an expansion amd getting around 6-7 hours but I would love to dump the extra weight.  God know I don't want to spend $200+ on a battery geek.

If you can get your hands on a Hirose #HR10A-7P-4P or #HR10-7P-4P connector to use with my MixPre, I'll be a guinea pig.

Hold that thought.  The question is what is the tip size or the power output?  I think I will pick one up myself.

Just noticed that the specs for the wall wart says "220V", I wonder if that's a typo?

wallmart sells one like this called the        iRecharge                  paid 10 bucks for it.  the tips determine the output voltage. this battery u need to use your power adaptor from the unit u plan on using to charge the thing.  my cord did not work,  :P, so used something with equal output.  it never charged for me, dont know if it was me or the battery.  was a great idea if they work.  for 10 bucks i'd try again. was pretty big, like a over sized dvd battery.  ed
needin some fishhead music!

The 13200mAh is probably based on the 5v setting.

Volts x amps =watts

5v x 13.2Ah = 66 watt hours

Dr-680 draws 9 watts with phantom engaged so

66 / 9 = 7.33 and figuring 70% efficiency 5.13 hours

Just received this, and I don't know what to think. DBRoth shipped a unit with the "i-up..." sticker on it, but it's actually an "iWalk" with seemingly different specs.

5V / 2.1A
12V / 16V / 3.0A
19V / 2.5A

And the stated capacity is 15600 mAh (3.7V) which I'm guessing is more or less 13200 @ 5V. 5V is only available through USB which is not what the website seemed to indicate. You can only select one voltage at a time

I was hoping to use this with my 661 which uses 5V / 1.5A DC in. I'm not electrically inclined, so I'm not sure if the higher amps would fry the deck. Do Marantz decks have any internal V or current regulation? Anybody have insight in this regard?

Bait and switch aside, the unit looks identical to the i-up, seems to be built on par with the Tekkeons.

The Amperage rating of the battery is the maximum current it can provide (akin to the diameter of plumbing... only so much water can get through the piping in a set amount of time). You just need the battery's maximum Amperage rating to exceed that of the device you are using; it's ok if the battery can supply more than what you need so long as the voltage is correct.

Any chance you would be able to snap some picks of the battery and included accessories?

The 9200 wasn't included, I just included it for scale. When you press the button on top all the lights come on for a few secs, then it uses the 4 lights around the button as a charge indicator. 4 lights = 85-100% remaining, 1 light = panic ensues. I haven't checked to see how long it stays on with no draw, and I also haven't checked to see how easy it is to accidentally turn off while in use. I'm guessing if there is draw, it will stay on, but I'll test to be sure and report back. The second pic shows the sticker I mentioned and the discrepancy between the i-up and iWalk. The front right panel pic shows the mechanical switch that specifies the voltage. Ted said he needed to look at the manual for some specs, well the "manual" is less informative than reading the backplate, so I included a pic of that. Now that I've been reassured about the amp issue (thanks hi and lo!), I think I'm OK with this unit. Like I said, the build quality is high, and it seems idiot proof compared to some of the other multivoltage batteries I've seen. Now I just need to get a cable order into Ted  ;D

The 13200mAh is probably based on the 5v setting.

Volts x amps =watts

5v x 13.2Ah = 66 watt hours

Dr-680 draws 9 watts with phantom engaged so

66 / 9 = 7.33 and figuring 70% efficiency 5.13 hours

Based on the photos below, I'd say is 13,200 @ 3.7v...  That makes it 3.8hours in the equation you just set...

Going back, if you output 12v, you end up with 4800mAh...  Typical of your 12v DVD Battery...

The build quality does look nice. Now we just need to figure out if it will inject any noise into the equipment it powers.

Oh... and they're no longer in stock on the DBRoth website.

I just did a quick search for both I-up and IWalk, and only found 1 place, but they wanted $160 for it. The company website shows it (IWalk) as a current product, so maybe DBRoth will get more.

The two bad reviews are from an I-Pad user who needed a higher amp out of the USB port and a netbook user who was pissy about not having the right tip supplied.  Guess he sjould learn to build his own cables  ;D

yeah,
there's also the reported high squeal, which is sort of a deal breaker for recording
