NM-30 (avlex) - need an alternative......
« on: May 08, 2015, 07:29:25 PM »
The Avlex NM-30 shock mount was highly recommended for Brian's (it goes to eleven) CA-14 bar......spoken w/ my local Avlex reseller today, the Avlex is back ordered a minimum of 5 weeks b/c of the west longshoreman strike.......pretty confident Brian's bar is 20mm thick, need a well made & quick to procure shock mount.  I know so folks make mounts onTS, please recommend......

This will be double posted under the mic section.

Thank you, this could work (can't tell what holds the bar in place?)!

Brian provided me with a foam piece that held the bar inside of a 20mm shockmount. The bar itself is very slim, the foam gets everything seated nicely.

Im using an HM-30 mount, which you can purchase here: http://www.superlux.us/smalldiaphragm.html

Awesome info below!

Ordered 2 of the Shure mount from a local shop on Monday (1 mount for each bar), I will use foam if the bar is loose.
