Topic: Rapid Adapter - missing the wing nut thing

subject pretty much lays it out, but I somehow lost the wing nut thing to my Rapid Adapter. A search around here isn't finding much talk about that piece. Anyone know where you can get a replacement one of those? Short of just buying a whole new R.A.?

I haven't checked my local hardware stores yet but seems to me this is maybe too specific of an item for them to have an exact one of these?  Something ghetto style may work if they find something. Wouldn't hurt to try yet.

I could try calling the folks at B&H maybe and see if that have just that part, but then it looks like a whole new R.A. is going set me back all of $14 and that will accomplish the task as well. So may just end up going that route in the end.

Contact Manfrotto and talk to them...  You might be surprised!

Check out National Camera Exchange..  store in Roseville isn't too far.  They might have it in store.. worth a shot.

West Photo next to Surdyks carries a ton of Manfrotto parts.

Last time I was in there around halloween it looked like they were selling a photography studio on consignment and they had a huge pile of used stands, clamps, and parts.

Just an update on this and then I'll lock er up

I checked both of those 2 local mentioned stores and they do not sell just the wingnut alone, but they will sell you a new Rapid Adapter though. Didn't want to do that however....

I checked with Manfrotto about this part and here what they came back with:

That part is item # R171,05AV.. and sells for $ 16.08 set of 5.... here at Manfrotto Distribution

As it turned out I ended up finding my missing wing nut thing as it was on another clamp thing I have (but have never used), so I didn't need one after one. But that part # may be worthy to keep note of, a quick google search is finding a few sites that sell just that part:
