The flash card market is in turmoil right now.
Photography sites were talking about big price
reductions in Europe last week.  The good news
is this means a permanent reduction in pricing
is well under way.

I'd wait until Tuesday before making a purchase just to
give other manufacturers time to react to Sandisk's new
prices, and to give online resellers a chance to update
their web sites.

you might want to find out the speed of this card before you buy one. from what i read, it seems like you will want a 45x card with the microtrack. this is a huge price drop on this card though!

The speed on Sandisk's older cards is like molasses...I'd stay far away from them for audio recording no matter what the price.

The 4gb Ultra II Sandisk is not slow, and it's only $179 here:

The Sandisk Ultra II is 66x.  The standard is somewhere around 20-30x.

Anybody know the conversion?  Speed listed for the Sandisk UII is listed as 9Mb and 10Mb.  I could not find anything else...how does that transpose?

I assume this is an adequate card to use?  As mentioned somewhere above, it's not on the MT list of supported cards, but the 512 is.

One thing to note on all CF cards, the "#x" speed varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.  You will actually have to check each manufacturer's web site to see the MB/Sec that is actually in the specs and then compare make to make and model to model.

Interesting...so the "#x" speed is not consistent.  I'm just getting in to the Flash technology. +t

Someone above mentioned that Sandisk is not a good bet for audio.  Anyone else want to back that up?  Why?
