I'm getting about 4.5 - 5 hours using 9.6v NiMH rechargable Imedions. Not nearly long enough. I much much prefer the ~10 hours I get from 6xAA with the PSP-2. Powering the Sonosax is not easy.

I run a dual Tekkeon mp3450 set at 19v and it will run the Sonsoax forever.  never had it die on me so i don't know how long it will truly last but I ran it a full day on Jam Cruise without issue.  I usually run one of these dual tekkeons to power 2 Sonosax devices simulataneously and after a typical 5 hr show the battery is down 1 bar/light at most.

I've had the same luck with the tekkeon 3300. I've run it at 14v and have yet to see a bar drop after a 3+hour show.

I have 1 show before my external arrives, please recommend a 9volt that will work the longest that can be purchased locally.

Any store-bought 9v cell batteries will work fine with the sax's internal slots. Just be safe and replace them each show. Enjoy that thing!

I would just stay away from the discounted batteries from the local Dollar store. Never used a 9v, but the one time I used some no name AA on a R-09, the bettery level started dropping less then two hours into a show. If you are going to buy locally at least buy a name brand like Duracell or Energiver. If I remember correctly I think the Duracell lasted longer in my Beyer so in a pinch I will grab them before the Energizer.

I buy Duracells from a  wholesaler in bulk.  They run about $105 for 100 US made Duracells and I have yet to have a problem.  I have bought DOA ones at retail stores more than once.
