Eco Charge EC-90 (6/12 V) charging question
« on: July 05, 2006, 07:58:24 PM »
Anybody know if the EC-90 battery (has both 6 and 12V sides) will charge with the Ecocharge 6V charger?

I'm not sure but I dont think it will work. The EC-90 has a built in smart charger with the battery. The adapter with the battery is just an AC adapter. The older 6 volt chargers from eco-charge had the smart chargers built in the adapter. I would check with eco-charge.

No

The EC-90 is a 12V SLA and the charging circuitry is built into the top of the battery.  The 6V charger is a smart charger (since the 6V SLA's didn't have the additional circuitry).  One thing that is beneficial is that buying a new charger for the EC-90's is cheaper if you need one.  If your EC-90 starts to show signs of a shortening life span, don't be in a rush to recycle it, that top half is still worth something.  The 6V output is just due to internal circuitry, you still need a 12V charger.

Maybe a couple of small scratches, but thats because these mics are chick magnets.
Girls always up on Andy tryin to grab these mics, the scratches are from their wedding rings.

Damn.  I figured that was the case.  Thanks for the info.
